Masterclass: Big Tech in the Global South: The Challenges to Regulate Digital Markets in Brazil

As a conclusion of the Seminar "Introduction to Software Law", Dr. Lucas Lasota invites Dr. Marcela Matiuzzo to conduct a masterclass on the challenges to regulate Big Tech in the global south.

Dr. Mattiuzzo will contextualize how digital markets are being regulated in Brazil. The topic is extremely relevant, as Big Tech companies have increased their efforts to de-regulate markets in the Global South after the emergence of stricter regulation in the EU.

Dr. Mattiuzzo holds a PhD in Law from the University of São Paulo, and she is a Professor at the Brazilian Institute for Education, Development and Research (IDP). She is a partner at VMCA Law Firm in the areas of technology and competition law. Currently, she is also the president of Women in Antitrust in Brazil (WIA).

The admission is free but places are limited. The lecture will be held in English.
