Masterclass: Regulating Digital Platforms in the Global South: Opening up App Stores to Competition in Brazil

As a conclusion of the  Seminar "Law & Tech in the Mass Democracy Age",Dr. Lucas Lasota invites  the legal researcher Gabrielle Graça to perform the last lecture on platform regulation in the Global South. As an example, the lecture will dive deeper into the recent example of regulating app stores in Brazil, demonstrating the hurdles and challenges to regulate big tech in countries suffering intense lobbying and disinformation campaigns against regulation.

Gabrielle Graça is a researcher at the Center for Technology and Society at FGV Rio, advisor at ARTICLE 19 Brazil and South America, and master's student in regulation law at FGV Direito Rio.

The admission is free but places are limited. The lecture will be held in English.
