Berlin Talks: Private International Law
There has been far too little discussion of private international law in Berlin up until now. A new series of events organized by Markus Lieberknecht (University of Osnabrück), Bettina Rentsch (FU Berlin), Giesela Rühl (Humboldt University), and Sophia Schwemmer (University of Heidelberg) is set to change this: “Berlin Talks: Private International Law” aims to activate and connect Berlin's private international law community—across disciplines, institutions, and levels of experience.
The events will take place two to three times per semester at various locations in Berlin and will focus on current developments and fundamental issues in private international law (in a broad sense). Experienced academics as well as young talents and practitioners from Germany and abroad will be invited to speak. All Berliners (and, of course, non-Berliners) who are interested in private international law are welcome to join the discussion – researchers and students as well as practitioners (lawyers, judges, administrators, businesspeople). The aim is to encourage exchange, provide impulses for thought, build a regional network, stimulate professional cooperation—in short, to make private international law in Berlin more visible, accessible, and vibrant.
If you would like to be invited to the events, host an event, or give a lecture, please contact Professor Giesela Rühl's chair.
