Conversation with Federal Minister of Justice Dr. Stefanie Hubig

On Monday, May 11, at the invitation of the Student Council, a conversation took place with Dr. Stefanie Hubig, Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, on the future of our constitutional state. For a good 90 minutes, in the packed Senate Hall of Humboldt University in Berlin—located in the immediate vicinity of Bebelplatz, where students, professors, and representatives of the NSDAP burned books by banned authors on May 10, 1933—participants discussed current challenges and prospects for the rule of law. Engaging questions from the audience and lively discussions ensured that the evening was a great success.

The Federal Minister of Justice was welcomed by the President of Humboldt University in Berlin, Prof. Dr. Julia von Blumenthal, as well as by Professor Giesela Rühl in her capacity as Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Law. The evening was organized and moderated by Tigran Mikayelyan and Anna Sophie Madeleine Dominik from the Student Council.
