Expert symposium on the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
On Friday, April 17, an expert symposium was held at the Faculty of Law on the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) into German law. At the invitation of the Humboldt Center for the Legal Profession and Oxfam, scholars and representatives from NGOs, law firms, and companies discussed with the federal ministries responsible for implementation the implementation needs raised by the directive and the options for implementation. The starting point and reference for the discussions was a legal opinion commissioned by Oxfam and authored by Dr. Bastian Brunk of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg, which will be published next week. The seminar was organized by Professor Giesela Rühl and Franziska Humbert of Oxfam.
