The law faculty of the University of Paris 2 (Panthéon-Assas), in the heart of Paris’ Latin Quarter, is by far the largest and also the leading law faculty in France. With over 100 faculty members, it covers the full spectrum of the law in all its facets, both in teaching and research, where it gathers some of the most famous names in the field in each subject area.

The faculty is traditionally France’s opinion leader in questions of the further development of law faculties and legal training, in particular vis-à-vis government ministries. In the form of the “Association Henri Capitant des amis de la culture juridique française”, it is home to an international legal association that is both the largest worldwide and the most important in France. Students at the European Law School have the opportunity to choose from different master’s programmes in both public law and civil law, each with international connections. The agreeably small group size of 20-25 persons in each master’s programme leads to excellent advising and continuous exchange between teachers and students, and it offers the opportunity for students easily to enter into contact with one another.
