Discussion series: “How resilient is our democracy?”
The LSI is a place to also gain a better understanding of current controversies. That is why we are dedicating our winter program to “militant democracy.” People everywhere are concerned about democracy, and there is much talk of resilience or defensiveness. But what does that mean? How German is the idea—or how international? Who is supposed to defend what? What about protests and freedom of expression in particular? People with different areas of expertise and different perspectives will discuss these issues at the LSI. Young researchers and students in particular are invited to participate.
