Curriculum
The IDR LL.M. program at Humboldt University of Berlin welcomes a diverse selection of 25 to 35 international candidates each year. Program Structure
The curriculum consists of both mandatory and elective modules, designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of International Dispute Resolution.
Mandatory Modules
The mandatory component includes the following modules:
- Arbitration: A thorough exploration of arbitration principles and practices.
- Private International Law (PIL): Covering essential topics, including EU regulations and International Commercial Law.
- International Investment Law and Arbitration: Focused on the legal frameworks governing international investments.
- Specific Areas of Arbitration: Examining selected arbitration rules through a dedicated lecture series.
- Introduction to Academic Writing and Case Solving Methods: Equipping students with essential research and analytical skills.
- Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Methods: An overview of various ADR techniques and their applications.
A key requirement of the program is the completion of a Master’s Thesis, allowing students to conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice.
