Winter School on ‘Environment, Law, and Society’ – A Resounding Success
The Winter School on ‘Environment, Law, and Society’, held from March 19–21 2025 in Berlin, brought together PhD researchers from diverse disciplines and distinguished international scholars to explore the intersection of legal systems, societal dynamics, and environmental challenges. Hosted by the Integrative Institute Law and Society (Humboldt‑Universität zu Berlin), the Centre Marc Bloch (Berlin), and the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at Oxford University, the event was a great success.
Over three days, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, shared cutting-edge research, and built connections that will continue to influence their work. The presentations by PhD students from across the world were not only insightful but also rich in interdisciplinary approaches, ranging from energy transition to the protection of environmental commons. The event provided a dynamic platform for critical dialogue and intellectual exchange, covering timely and urgent topics at the intersection of law, society and the environment.
