Kurzbeschreibung:
The aim of this course is to examine theoretically and empirically how cultural, economical, political and social power relations create socially constructed normativities and hierarchies at the interdependencies of gender and sexuality with ethnicity, class, religion and disability. Through an intersectional perspective we seek to move beyond the analytical fragmentation resulting from constructing and deconstructing of gendered and sexualized difference and diversity especially in Cultural, Gender and Postcolonial Studies. Students who successfully finish this course will gain an in depth understanding of normative systems underpinning oppression, domination and discrimination at interdependent levels from a gender perspective.
The seminar is offered for MA Gender Studies students (Module 8 Free choice, Module 3 Norming) and for law students as an additional course.
