A Charter of Digital Fundamental Rights of the EU
The Model European Union Conference (MEUC) simulates a meeting of the EU Fundamental Rights Convention. During the simulation, students shall practise diplomatic and negotiating skills as well as the application of EU law. The participation in the MEUC provides an insight into negotiating processes of the EU institutions and the difficulties of reaching an agreement between the EU Member States. All participants shall identify the real Member States’ or EU institution’s position, so that the simulation outcome should be close to reality of EU policy. MEUC addresses to students of law, political sciences and relates subjects from all Berlin universities.
This term’s MEUC pursues an agreement about the draft of a Charter of Digital Fundamental Rights of the EU, published by a group of 'interested European Citizen'. MEUC negotiations shall end up with a Convention's recommendation on the draft of the Charter that can be found here.
The simulation takes place on June 9th and 10th at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Berlin.
There will be a preliminary meeting on May 10th, 18:00-20:00, at the library of the Walter Hallstein-Institute (Raum 101, UL 11).
We are looking forward to your registration.
